As I captured two bison in a bit of a play fight together in front of me, my partner Ananta yelled, “John, look at the light on this cow and calf behind us”. I said I was done capturing calfs as I had a couple hundred images of them at that point. As I looked where she was pointing, I saw what she was seeing. The light on the back of the calf was glowing. I was able to capture 3-4 images before they moved on; this all happened within seconds. When I got home, I realized how truly incredible that moment was. The image was captured in late May, 2021.
